A powerhouse of Italian textiles and one of the last Italian mills that can claim vertical production of its entire yarn collection. Founded in 1850 in the same location it still resides, its sense of community and commitment to preserving the surrounding environment is still at the core of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia' values.
The evolution of this collection has embraced both tradition as well as reflecting the current and emerging trends, upholding the highest quality in fibre and unparallelled service. Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia are world renown for extrafine merino and merino blends in both woollen and worsted type, Zegna' Cashwool remains the most recognisable and mimicked extrafine merino on the market. Despite its fame for classic yarns of Merino, Cashmere and Silks, Zegna have built a reputation for fancy yarns with a high percentage of natural fibre, pushing creativity whilst maintaining luxury.
Sustainability is paramount, Zegna produces an annual report examining everything from water usage to fibre procurement to human resources. The highest levels of certification whether it be at fibre level or chemical management have been obtained and maintained.





Marchi Fildi & Filidea

The Group focuses on production of yarns from natural and artificial fibres, pure or blended, for use in fashion and furnishings presented over three distinct collections: Marchi & Fildi, Filidea and Filidea Technical Yarns. Its product range appeals to all sectors flat and circular knitting, weaving, hosiery, with specialization in cotton spinning. Marchi & Fildi is home to ECOTEC®.
A range of yarns of various counts reusing pre and post consumer textile scraps in the production process, either pure or blended with other virgin and/or recycled fibres. An entry level price point across this collection with a considerable investment in stock supported cottons such as the Nilo and Victoria. The Filidea brand is synonymous with Italian Style, Creativity and sustainable innovation with a preference to use natural, highly certified and biodegradable fibres such as Silk, RWS Wool, GOTS Cotton, EU Flax Linen and a Bemberg Cupro.
They spin fine counts targeting the medium to upper end of the market. Pinori Filati

Pinori have been spinning in Prato since 1970, their passion for artisanal and innovative fancy yarns is evident throughout their highly creative seasonal collections.
An emphasis on Alpaca for Autumn/winter including a range of undyed natural shades, it explores heavier gauges suitable for both machine and handknit, space dyes, marls, boucles and brushed yarns add texture and a mass of colour possibilities for the designer to utilise.
Spring Summer is dedicated to the lowest possible environmental impact, their 'Recy' range of yarns include Recycled Cotton, Recycled synthetics as well as the recycled denim story which has been a mainstay in the collection for over 20 years, this shows their commitment to sustainability and using recycled materials began a long time ago!






Ecafil Best

Thanks to the know-how acquired over 70 years, Ecafil produce collections renowned for quality, reliability and innovative technologies appealing to a broad range of the market!
This family owned mill is based in Calenzano Tuscany, home to small batch sampling, R&D, and where the collection is designed. The group's production plant is Fileca in Romania, this is where all phases of R&D and design come together within a state of the art factory. One of the best known results of Ecafil' drive toward innovation would be their patented ARYA ® technology, which consists of treating the fibers before spinning with a jet of air that makes them open and creating loft and weightlessness, the mills own version of air spinning, not only do you get a light and soft garment but also minimise consumption at knitting level.
Autumn/Winter uses the likes of Mohair, Wool, and Alpaca in classic and fancy structures, with the flexibility to swap out materials for sustainable alternatives at low sampling minimums. The winter collection is also where you can find the majority of their highly sought after range of handknitting yarns. Spring Summer feature an array of printed, sprayed, plain GOTS certified and mercerised cotton and cotton tape yarns, perfect for mid-heavy weight knitwear, certified viscose and Silks sit alongside as finer gauge options

Filati Naturali together with Pecci Filati form a hub of excellence for the production of yarns (Manifattura Pecci 1884), embodying the experience and inheriting the values of one of the most important companies in the rich textile history of Prato: Lanificio Pecci. Over a century of expertise has helped craft a collection that reimagines the finest fibres on the planet, Cashmere, Silk, Yak, Camel and Alpaca, maintaining the integrity of the fibre whilst striking a modern chord, proudly 100% made in Italy!
Filati Naturali were quick to recognise the appetite for recycled cashmere and offer their EcoCashmere range which combines the perfect blend of pre and post consumer recycled cashmere with virgin fibre to ensure the performance and stability of the yarn as well as offer a wider, vibrant colour palette, GRS certified and stock supported in a variety of counts.
A/W emphasises lightness, texture in fancy as well as sophistication in clasicism....S/S concentrates on fine cashmere and silks, delicate fine counts, sometimes sheer but alway elegant, high level of certification throughout both seasons!






Ilaria

Est.1967 Ilaria is still very much a family affair, with a keen eye for emerging trends its diverse and adventurous range is favoured by all of the major worldwide fashion houses, noble fibres blended with modern synthetics creating the ultimate up market fancy yarn collection!
The jewel in the crown would be the truly stock supported Superkid Mohair blend 'Aurora 100' with a vast colour card of 200 colours ready for immediate delivery, Mohair is also featured in the spring summer collection, promoting this fibre as a seasonless choice. It was no surprise that Ilaria was the first spinning mill, worldwide, to obtain textile exchanges RMS certification, marking their commitment to traceability, animal welfare and the environment.

Filitaly Lab has become an industry leader in the highest quality Alpaca and Alpaca Blends for knitting. Their aim is to be central to everything that revolves around the alpaca industry, as an honorary member of the Asociación Internacional de la Alpaca, an association that promotes alpaca fiber internationally, they are focused on responsible actions throughout the supply chain. Prato based and established in 2008 the company has crafted an iconic cross-season collection comprising two distinct sections.
The main range where you can find the airspun woollens, Brushed, Boucle novelties as well as their classic worsted yarns such as the ever popular Puno. The Limited Edition range was born out of the urgency for traceability and certification, RAS features in this section, a standard Filtialy were quick to acknowledge and acquire, Limited Edition also offers the opportunity for designers to discover a refreshing range of undyed, natural and botanically dyed yarn qualities.
